Hello all,

We ended up having to cancel a planned trip in June due to me being on call for work and I couldn’t be that far away from a computer connection for the entire weekend.

This was a particular bummer for my kids because it was supposed to be their Birthday camping trip. We had told them that they could each take a friend with them for the weekend in lieu of having some big party at a local skating rink or bowling alley.

So instead we allowed them to have their friends sleep over at our house for the weekend and we set up tents in the backyard, had a campfire and roasted s’mores on Saturday night. We also spent the day at the beach with their friends so they didnt’ have a totally bummed out birthday weekend.

So even though we didn’t actually go camping we sort of camped out in our backyard and still had lots and lots of fun with them and their friends.
