Well so much happened over this summer that I’m just gonna do a quick recap here and then over the next couple of days or so I will give you all the detailed accounts.
We had five family camping trips planned as well as five or six scout camping trips and we were actually able to do most of the family trips and all of the scout trips.
For the first time ever we sat down as a family back in late April or early May and planned out our summer to make sure we actually had some sort of idea as to what we wanted to do instead of just kind of winging it and hoping we got some good things in.
So way back when we planned a family camping trip each month during the summer, “The Linden” First Annual boys only camping trip, two scout fun with son trips, a week of day camp, a week’s cruise, a trip to Dorney Park (local amusement park), Labor Day weekend in the Poconos, a scout WEBELOS only fall camping trip, and scout family camping trip.
As you can see what planned a whole lot of activities and fun. That list actually doesn’t even do justice to what my kids were doing as my parents watched them Monday night to Wednesday night each week (due to work schedules) and they went on lots of day trips to the shore, amusement parks, local swimming lakes, etc…
So here’s the “quick recap”:
Family camping – 3/5 – we had to cancel trips in June and July due to work commitments and other scheduling conflicts.
Scout Camping – 4/4 – Family camping, Fun with son’s and Day Camp all happened.
Labor Day Poconos – 0/1 – Waitlisted at Timeshare Resort didn’t come through.
Dorney Park – 1/1 – This was an absolute blast.
Cruise – 1/1 – I would highly recommend Royal Carribean to anybody and everybody. They really know how to take care of their guests!
The Linden Boys Only – Coming up in the middle of October.
WEBELOS Fall Trip – Coming up at the end of Sept.
Added another scout trip – My older son will crossover from cub scouts to boy scouts in February and his den has been invited to their first Boy Scout camping trip in November up to Hawk Mountain in Central PA.
All in all, an absolute blast of a summer that we still have not fully recovered from!
I will go into lots and lots of detail in the coming days.
‘Till Next Time…Remember “There Ain’t No Better Camping Then New Jersey Camping!”
